About Us
Who is MERG?
The Micro Enterprise Resource Group (MERG)
is a group of concerned companies who work with
Connecticut's micro enterprise. We recognize the positive
impact of these smallest of businesses, both to
Connecticut’s economy and to the individuals who operate
them.
MERG is a statewide group working together to promote the
interests of micro enterprise. We are coordinating
resources, and serving as a voice for micro enterprise at
the legislature.
MERG formed in 2003, and in the years since, it has:
educated lawmakers to the differences between small
business and micro enterprise
compiled
and distributed reliable statistics proving the valuable
contributions micro enterprise makes to Connecticut’s
economy
worked on legislation to extend municipal health
insurance coverage to micro enterprise
connected lawmakers directly with micro entrepreneurs
at an annual reception at the Capitol
educated lawmakers to the differences between small
business and micro enterprise
